About Jonathan

     In his lifetime, Jonathan has already participated in a bunch of exciting things and accomplished a good bit for his age. He continues to push forward in his drive towards excellence, learning, living a balanced and healthy life, and being a positive influence in the community.

The Early Years

Jonathan was born in the Washington, DC area, and lived there until he was 7 years when the family moved to Charlotte, NC. At an early age he was full of energy, rarely desiring naps and instead electing for Lego time in his room. By 7 he had already begun mowing the lawn and taking on increased responsibility. Throughout his younger years he demonstrated an emerging entrepreneurial spirit by starting a variety of little business including opening a candy and drink stand at the pool and offering services like mailbox replacement, babysitting, lawn mowing, and at your home car wash. Jonathan enjoyed being the oldest of 4 children, sometimes to their chagrin, as he began to practice his leadership skills. Regardless, growing up was a fun time.

Teen Years

In the teen years, Jonathan really began to mature into a young adult. At 14 he took his first job at veterinary hospital where he helped the doctors, interacted with clients and cared for pets. At church, Jonathan began leading a setup & take down crew at church, participating on the worship team, and helping with a variety of events. When the church started renovating a house on the church property for offices Jonathan volunteered numerous hours and learned some valuable handy man skills. After turning 16, Jonathan began working for the construction company that did the renovations up until starting college. Along the way, he continued to learn the value of hard work, and doing things with excellence. In academics, Jonathan continued to excel getting scores in the upper percentile for his age range and also began taking dual enrollment classes at the community college to get a head start.

College & Early Leadership

Jonathan went into college with both feet flying. He took full loads of engineering classes, while jumping headfirst into a college outreach group, and continuing to serve in his church. Shortly after starting college Jonathan was asked to be president of the college outreach where he lead a team of volunteers for three years in planning and executing a variety of events, and bi-monthly meetings, playing a part in growing the ministry from a group of ten to over a hundred attendees.

Jonathan also served as a worship director for the college outreach for over five years and was blessed to work with numerous gifted folks in the band and sound team.

After completing his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Jonathan worked straight through and also got his masters in Civil Engineering.

Early Career & Expanded Leadership

After graduating Jonathan was hired into PSI's Manager-In-Training program which he completed in a year becoming a project manager and being given responsibility for a small office in Boone, NC.

During this time, Jonathan also was asked to serve on the board of directors for a new church plant and to be the director of worship.

Continued Growth

In 2010, Jonathan wed his wife Katie in a little ceremony by Lake Norman. Due to a surprise work transfer they only had a two day escape, before he had to return to work for two days, then left for Florida for four days to begin an MBA at the University of Florida, and then started his new job in Augusta, GA the next day.

The next few years were flurry of activity as Jonathan worked a demanding job, often putting in 60+ hours, plus a two hour round trip commute, and worked to excel in his MBA program.

Jonathan is now working on classes for his PMP certification.

The Future

Who knows exactly what the future will bring for Jonathan. Regardless, it is bound to be exciting as he desires to continuing expanding in leadership roles and be involved in business leadership. Stayed tuned for the developing story...
